Psoriasis

Is a life long condition in which the immune system becomes overactive causing the skin cells to multiple too quickly. Patches of skin then become scaly and inflamed and mainly affects the scalp, elbows and knees, but also other parts of the body too.

Treatments:

Psoriasis can be treated with topical treatments such as emolliants, steroid creams and ointments (topical corticosteroids) Coal tar, phototherapy and sometimes systemic treatment such as Methotrexate or Acitretin.
